I was glad to see the end of 2021. We spent an entire year living through the pandemic and lost a few friends. This holiday weekend was a quiet one, but I was able to get in a few good meals before going back to work in 2022.

So much leftover rice from the last couple of days, fried rice seemed appropriate (a mix of Chinese restaurant rice, basmati rice, and saffron rice, with extra eggs, sliced Fresno peppers, and chopped scallion - at least it’s colorful!)
