Until dining is allowed again, I will be keeping a log of restaurants I have ordered from for delivery or takeout.

So, reader, I am asking for your dining stories. Are you cooking more? When you order in or go pick up, do you try to support local restaurants?

As always, please keep it civil and relevant. I promise I will refrain from commenting on your experience, but I might be curious enough to ask questions to better understand your story.

Are you Asian enough or the right kind of Asian?

I’m playing Devil’s advocate here. I haven’t watched Warrior, because I don’t have Cinemax. I’m only commenting on the casting.

Andrew Koji is half Japanese half English. Has anyone complained yet that he isn’t Chinese and the role should have gone to an actor of Chinese descent?

This issue of an Asian actor playing a character of another Asian ethnicity has come up before and sometimes has generated complaints of “why can’t the role be played by one of ours,” e.g., a Vietnamese character should go to an actor of Vietnamese descent and should not be played by an actor of Korean descent. (“Hustlers” comes to mind.)

And does mixed race count? Are you Asian enough if you’re not 100% to play an Asian character?

Why hasn’t it been an issue in this case? Or has there been and I just haven’t seen it?

So, reader, I am asking for your thoughts. How do you feel about cross-ethnic (is that a term) casting?

As always, please keep it civil and relevant. I promise I will refrain from commenting on your experience, but I might be curious enough to ask questions to better understand your story.
